I've been having some success with the outcasts in crater too wich had me thinking of how I could kill the Oni guarding the bridge. There are 2 groups of 6 oni I believe, and they drop the Ungues of the Oni green daggers. The groups are easy enough to pull independantly, but it seems that the diff between 4 Oni groups and 6 Oni groups is what makes them able to kill me.
Has anyone else tried this, any insights?
I'll be checking it out later today again just for the challenge of it I think.

If you want to practice farming oni, theres a group that spawn right near the rez shrine outside breaker hallow (Mount Qinkai side). You can run straight to them with no enemies on the way so its a good way to try stuff out.

oni
I have been able to kill the oni on the bridge several times (yet unconsistantly) if you go the left way you will trigger the other group to come and fight but if you go the right side of the bridge you will only have to face one group.
I cast a Visage before Arcane Echo and run in with VWK. Then I spam vengeful weapon w/ soothing memories. Be sure to keep up physical resistance too.
It's mostly about luck and when they decide to use Horns of the Ox.
I have also been able to solo Geoffer outside of Zos Shivros. You must aggro both groups of outcast and pull back to wall so that the Naga dont come in. Then use Mantra of Resolve right before you use VWK.
I'm still having trouble with Jacquis. It seems like I can never get all outcast groups together at the same time and end up being flanked. If anybody has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Goodluck!

I always take the onis from the left, I go along the wall (except for the monks group) killing every patrol along the way. This is not to say you cant go the other way, I choose this way because there IS more stuff to kill . For outcasts, no phys resistance or visage as they are a waste, but I do use mantra of concentration just as I drop the second VwK. Once I get to onis at bridge I preload the phys resistance, precast AV and arcane echo and pull them to me. This way the second group even when they come over the bridge aren't drawn into aggro. Often I only get a few seconds out of the AV (preload time until whole group in aggro range usually only leaves time for a few hits) but not to worry, just wait until shroud wears out and reload. I tend not to spam both vw and sm, I do use vw though. Just watch out for the phys resistance wearing off...

Yeah I've no problems taking that spawn on, There's also an oni spawn just south of the rez shrin coming in to Crater form Leviathan Pits. I like to take that one on my way to killing outcasts. Seems its the jump from 3-4 oni to 6 oni that makes it way harder. I'll be working on it again today.
As for the UW build, I sank a couple Ks in trying it out. I think I'll be able to manage it but I was having an odd problem clearing the main room (besides lag). Whne I would try and pull the 2nd group of Squids I they would break agro and run back to the Aatxes as soon as they hit me once or twice. Has this happened to anyone else? What am I doing worng?

In regard to your UW squiddy issue tek, I may be wrong, but I've noticed the 'tethers' on groups seem to have gotten shortened in some recent update. The upshot is many groups don't seem to pull like they used to, you should be able to play with it to find a sweet spot though. unfortunately in UW there is little room for trial and error as a solo.

Yeah I managed getting to the smites tonight. I think part of the problem is that I suck. I did kill a bunch of smit crawlers after that though, that's much much easier, as is avoiding those Coldfire patrols. I got squat for loot though. Maybe the 3 times I died before I finally made it triggered the farm code.
I also managed to kill the oni on the bridge, same story.
Any other wonderful ideas. Who's gonna come up with a FoW build?

If you can, try putting some points into communing and bring Dulled weapon. Since the vermin are assassin, it keeps them from getting a critical strike. Use it when Ancestor's Visage is down. Might help?
For 5..17 [21] seconds, target foe and all nearby foes cannot achieve a Critical Hit.

After having a bit of an Idea I gave a try to framing Unwaking Waters, I thought that with the UW build I could run past the Warrior/Ranger/Assassin group just outside the exit and then hit the outcasts there. I cant get it to work and I cant kill the rangers because I cant outdamage their troll ungent. Still, when your side controls the zone you get rez at the shrin which is out of the area.
... After a lot of work (because I suck) I was able to clear most of the outcasts in the zone and kill Merki the Reaver, who drops a nice shield (no drop for me though). The Kraken's are easy, but avoid the Saltsprays at all costs.
If there is more potential for this zone, it'll take a better player than me to find it.
Thoughts?

UW build
Ok call me a noob to certain builds...I am but as luck would have it I started a Rit/Me when factions came out. I have found this thread very helpful but I am unsure about what to use to try a solo UW run. It is hard to read the skills I listed above (from Dahnel pictures above). Also do you fight everything before the smites or try to run through them? Thanks for the help.

The basice build: Vengeful was Khanhei {E}, Arcane Echo, Ancestors Visage, Sympathetic Visage, Vengeful Weapon, Physical Resistance, Soothing Memories...but he replaced channeling with Illusion of haste.
It looks like he takes the quest and then runs to the smite area. When haste ends, re-cast it and run some more. The key would be to find where safe areas are that you can run to and safely recharge the Haste spell.

i want to be clear on the weapon- are you saying this build is best suited for a enchant weapon with a 20/20 offhand, r is that just your preference...
like- will this work with a 2020 staff of enchanting? otherwise ima have to farm yet another totem axe tonight (id say everyone but my warrior has one now, practically :P)

Phys Res is a hard skill to replace. Theres no other skill your gonna get that gives you +40 armor for Rt/Me.

Phys res is hard to replace but there are areas that you can farm without it. Wardens in arborstone and outcasts are doable without phys res. Be especially sure to get armor with the bonus while holding an item, and if there is such a thing maybe an offhand or at least a staff with an armor bonus as well.
As for what to do about replacing the skill.... well I havent put that much thought into it but depending on the area, Resilient Weapon might help. Also havent tried it out at all but it might be possible to work something in using Mighty Was Vorizun...

If you check the forums, there actually is a build for the ritualist to clear the forest in FOW - it works great (Rit/Ranger) - I find that I can clear it quicker and safer than with any other solo build for FOW.
